Events at Boston

In terms of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) entered into between the University of South Africa (UNISA) and Boston City Campus & Business College (Boston), students registered with UNISA are allowed to register for ‘top-up’ or ‘extra lessons’ with the Boston Bedfordview support centre.

Boston is very proud of its (this) shared history, since 1991 many UNISA students and graduates have stepped through our doors and went on to fulfil the highest calling in modern society, which is that of critical citizenship.

More specifically, the MOU lists the activities which are solely UNISA’s responsibility, which are in-line with the provisions of the Higher Education Act, 1997 (Act No. 101 of 1997), see Table below.

Provision in the Act

Assigned responsibilities of UNISA

  • Production of courseware print/electronic

  • Taking responsibility for the assessment of students regarding their learning programmes;

UNISA students who have also registered with Boston make use of tuition support at the Boston Bedfordview support centre, which is the only address provisioned for face-to-face facilitation (contact sessions).

The Boston Bedfordview support centres’ facilities have the following additional resources which are used for UNISA students only:

  • Full-time administrators and other support staff;
