Audio Visual Production (Video)
Going beyond convention...
From concept to final product (the ABC of video) the thought process is developed. This includes analysis (genre, production type and production format); pre-production (planning, conceptualizing, scouting, scripting and storyboarding); production (lighting, actual shooting and sound recording); and post production (editing and packaging)
The course also includes applied theory (history and development); on-location facilities; development of national and international skills; practical workshops (lighting, audio, make-up, etc); practical assignments; industry related projects; entrance into Mnet TAG awards.
Starting from first year, students are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills for the professional production environment, with additional practical experience gained during their 100 hour internship in the industry,in their 3rd year. Show reels (portfolio, proof of work) are created for career applications.
Industry standard equipment: current equipment consists of Apple Editing Suites, using Final Cut Pro, Pro-Tools and broadcast-quality equipment (Sony PD 170) HD Cameras and Editing Suites. All equipment and software is updated regularly to ensure students are kept abreast of industry technologies.
